What does a treatment involve?
The first appointment with Shion is about an hour and a half in duration. During that session, Shion will establish an individually
tailored treatment plan based on a Traditional Diagnosis (which involves the taking of pulses and tongue examination).
Treatment will be administered by using hair-fine needles inserted into acupuncture points on the meridians, which are energy pathways
along the body.(For people with extreme needle phobia, or young children, acupressure can be used as an alternative).
When the acupuncture needles are inserted into the acupuncture points, patients tend to feel a slight tingling or dull ache. During and
after treatment, patients often feel extremely relaxed and experience a sense of quiet wellbeing.
Depending on the condition, illness or ailment, Shion may also suggest adjustments in diet and lifestyle, or recommend nutritional supplements to further enhance the recovery process as well as allowing the patient to regain more conscious control over their own healing process.
